​Ancient City of Aizanoi

​Aizanoi Ancient City is an important ancient city located in Çavdarhisar district of Kütahya province of Turkey. Aizanoi served as an important settlement center and trade center during the Roman period.Aizanoi, M.D. 3. it is a Phrygian city founded in the century. However, it showed a great development during the Roman period and became an important city. The buildings in the city exhibit the most beautiful examples of Roman architecture.The most important structure of the Ancient City of Aizanoi is the Ancient Theater of Aizanoi. This theater was built during the Roman period and has a capacity of 20 thousand people. It is also known as one of the best preserved ancient theaters in the world.There are also important buildings in the city such as the Aizanoi Ancient Stadium, the Aizanoi Ancient Bath and the Aizanoi Ancient Temple. The temple is a building built during the Roman period and dedicated to Zeus. The temple was completed during the reign of the Roman Emperor Hadrian.The Ancient City of Aizanoi was included in the UNESCO World Heritage List in 2012. The city is open to tourists today with archaeological excavations and restoration works. Visitors can visit the ruins of the ancient city, see historical buildings and discover many artifacts belonging to the Roman period.
