​Arslantepe Mound

​Arslantepe Mound is an archaeological site located on the Elazığ road in the province of Malatya, Turkey. It is also known as Arslantepe. This mound, M.D. 6. it is the remains of an ancient city that has been inhabited since the millennium.Arslantepe Mound is considered to be one of the oldest settlement areas of Mesopotamia. M.D. 4. This city, which was founded by Assyrian colonies in the millennium, has been under the influence of many civilizations throughout history. Different civilizations such as the Hittites, Assyrians, Urartians and Persians ruled here.The excavations carried out at Arslantepe Mound have enabled the discovery of many important finds. Especially the palace ruins, temples, monumental buildings, tombs and various objects found in the mound allow us to understand the history and culture of the region. In addition, cuneiform tablets found in the mound shed light on the early periods of written history.Arslantepe Mound was included in the UNESCO World Heritage List in 2014. For this reason, the mound attracts the attention of tourists and archaeologists along with its historical and archaeological importance. In addition, excavations and archaeological studies at the mound are continuing.
