​Kültepe Mound

​Kültepe Mound is an ancient mound located in Kayseri province of Turkey. During the Period of Assyrian Trade Colonies (M.D. 2000-1750) was used as an important commercial center. In addition, it is located right next to the historical Kayseri Castle.Kültepe Mound was discovered by archaeologists in 1948. The mound is about 20 meters high and 500 meters in diameter. As a result of the excavations carried out at the mound, many remains and artifacts belonging to the Period of Assyrian Trade Colonies have been uncovered.The tablets found in the mound were written in the cuneiform script used during the Assyrian Trade Colonies Period.These tablets contain important information about the commercial activities, social life and cultural characteristics of the period. In addition, there are pottery, bronze and silver items among the artifacts found at Kültepe Mound Dec.Kültepe Mound attracts the attention of tourists with its historical and cultural riches. The mound is also considered an important archaeological site where information and documents belonging to the Period of Assyrian Trade Colonies are found.
