​Ancient City of Magnesia

​The Ancient City of Magnesia is an ancient city located in Germencik district of Aydın Province of Turkey. Kent, 3 BC. it was founded in the century and became an important trade center during the Roman Empire. While Magnesia was known as a rich city in ancient times, it attracts tourists with its archaeological remains today.Among the most important structures of the Ancient City of Magnesia are the theater, agora, stadium, baths, temples and walls. Dec. The theater has a seating capacity of about 15,000 people and is one of the best preserved theaters of the Roman period. The agora has been used as a square where commercial and social events take place. The stadium is known as an area used for athletics competitions in ancient times.The Ancient City of Magnesia also has an important place in the history of Christianity. A church located in the city is known as the Church of Saint Jean and is considered an important center in the history of Christianity.The Ancient City of Magnesia was included in the UNESCO World Heritage Tentative List in 2013. The city offers visitors the opportunity to explore many ruins belonging to the ancient period.
