​Çatalhöyük Neolithic Area

​Çatalhöyük (Decalhöyük) is a Neolithic settlement located in Konya province of Turkey and was settled between 7500-5700 BC. During the excavations, various finds were discovered, among them are animal bones, plant remains, stone tools, ceramics and wall Decals. Human remains have also been found in and around the houses. These remains offer important information about people's lifestyles, nutrition and death rituals. Çatalhöyük is also of great importance in terms of human history and culture. The excavations carried out in the settlement provide information on topics such as house construction, agricultural methods and animal domestication. The murals show depictions of animals from that period. Therefore, the discovery of Çatalhöyük is an important source about human history and culture.
